Although now faded into obscurity, Jacques Duphly was one of the most prominent French harpsichordists of his time, famed for his excellent teaching skills and known for his enviable connections with the French aristocracy. Duphly, whose wonderfully sparkling music has long deserved more attention, blossoms under his masterful fingers and touch. I'm delighted with this recording and it has a significant place in my collection of French baroque harpsichord recordings. Jacques Duphly was a popular harpsichordist and organist and the composer of bright, lively, and attractive keyboard music.
